Amazing Abstract Art

Ages 7 and up
4 week session, Mondays 3:30pm-4:30pm
$100/session

Description

Learn the very cool painting techniques of spin art or paint pouring.  There are so many different methods and effects one can achieve.  We will explore a few in this session.  Kids love the chemistry and wonder of the spin oo pour.  The effects are different every time.  There will be at least two take home pieces to hang in your space.

Clay Sculpting Class “Spring is in the Air”










Ages 5 and up
Wednesday @ 3:30pm-4:30pm
Cost $100, 4 week session

Description

Creators will enjoy working with clay to sculpt several different projects of their imagination.  All the while they will be learning how to use tools and techniques to achieve their vision.  Our theme will be There will also be natural materials on hand to inspire students and can be incorporated into their sculptures.   There will be several pieces to take home.

Painting with Mixed Media









Ages 5 and up, Four Week sessions
Tuesday @3:30-4:30
Cost $100

Description

Your artist will learn new skills and have fun playing with paint and other mediums to create several take home works of art.  There are so many fun techniques and tricks they will experiment with to layer art with a variety of mediums in order to achieve the vision in their imagination.

Mixed Media is an art term used to describe artworks composed from a combination of different media or materials.  This is so much fun for all ages but particularly for kids as they love rummaging through materials to find the perfect thing to bring what is already in their minds eye to life.

At the Hive we use as much recycled material as we can and encourage donations if you have any cool collections to pass on!!

Sketch Club








Ages 5 and up, Four week sessions
Thursdays @ 3pm
Cost is $100

Description

Group will going for downtown walkabouts every week using local landmarks, art installations, totems, and each other as our inspiration.  Children will be guided in drawing techniques, which we will build on, culminating in a self bound sketch book to take home.  Children will have access to several different mediums to sketch and play with adding interest and self expression to their pieces.  Teachers will work individually with children as well as with the group to help each student reach their desired goals.  We did this with multi age kids camps and all found joy in this experience.

Tie Dye Designing









Ages 7 and up, Four week session
Fridays @ 1pm and 3pm
$140/session

Description

Come and have a blast exploring many of the different designs you can make with tie dye.  We will provide several items to dye and take home.  We also encourage students to bring along white (preferably cotton) items from home (maybe an article is stained and now can be brought back to life) that can be reused and/or given as a gift.
